A CUP OF COFFEE WITH TEACHER'S DAY

Teachers Day, as we know, is celebrated on 5th of September every year. This auspicious day was a day when one legendary educationist was born- Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. He dreamt big; and people who dream to achieve, experience the taste of success. Dr. Radhakrishnan went on to become the second President of India. He once remarked that teachers are people who "are the brightest mind in the country".

Who is a teacher? Is the term allotted to someone who has the ideology 'Education for Money'? Or is it someone, who is committed to the welfare of a student's life and career prospects? The latter wins the case, hands down. Teachers provide us education. Education transforms into knowledge. Knowledge wields itself as wisdom. And wisdom is what human beings crave for. The entire spark is ignited by the teachers.

The fifth day of September is specially designated for celebrating these invaluable preceptors who have influenced us. When we stepped into the first grade; we knew nothing. We communicated in broken English and had not discovered our potentials yet. As the years passed by, skills and concepts were infused into our minds. It was more than just bookish knowledge- expanding into dominions of moral education and virtues. What we can do today is for them.

Let's not forget that Teacher's Day should have no particular date as such. In my opinion; everyday is a Teacher's Day, and everyday ought we pay our respects in the same esteem as that of that one labelled day. Lets make it a point to thank all the teachers around us. Our primary teachers are our parents- and we grow up under their guidance. We should be grateful to them as they were the first light of inspiration for us.

A few words can never express a thousand feelings.

It is thus not feasible to write for expressing the emotions deep within. When we shall be veterans of the fields we are destined to reach, then we would remember these days of school life and the grinding we went through, just as a mirror is polished and cut to increase it's efficiency. And we would then proclaim with gratified minds, "I am here for them".
