SECURITY OFFICER

Summary of Position: Provides security and surveillance services at Indian Pueblo Cultural Center and their facilities by protecting life and property for tribal members, employees, tenants and visitors. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years of age. Current valid New Mexico Driver's License with no arrests in the past year except minor traffic violations. No felony convictions or gross misdemeanors. Level II Certification or equivalent required and CPR/First Aid within 6 months of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements. Knowledge of security operations, principles and practices including investigation, patrol, communications, records, community/public relations, and crime prevention. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels. Ability to make intelligent and effective decisions in routine and emergency situations. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other law enforcement/regulatory agencies, departmental staff, tribal officials, and the public.
